TEVA Tour- March 15, 2016
The 3rd year Biotechnology students were invited to tour the tablet factory at TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. The students visited the laboratories and the production floor. The tour was arranged by Hadassah- Campus Strauss’ Career Center for the students who will be graduating the Biotechnology program this summer. The students learned of the various jobs available to them at TEVA upon graduating and had the opportunity to give in their resumes.
On December we were honored by a visit from the Deputy Minister of Education, Knesset Member Meir Porush. After touring our growing campus and hearing about the various study tracks, he said that what impressed him most was the fact that the Haredi men who lack so much in fundamental subjects such as English, math, science and computers are able to close the gap in a nine-month pre-academic study program.
Welcome Ambassador– March, 2015
On March 3rd, we were honored to host the Australian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Dave Sharma on campus. The ambassador was greeted by Prof. Bertold Friedlender, President of HAC and by Rabbi and Mrs. Yaakov Yeruslavsky, Founder and CEO of Campus Strauss. The ambassador was offered a first-hand presentation of our unique project which brings together the secular and orthodox worlds in Israel. The ambassador toured the campus and met with the students. Mr. Sharma regards the embassy’s mission as being a bridge not only between the governments of Israel and Australia but also between the members of the Jewish communities in both countries. At the end of the visit, Prof. Fridlender presented the ambassador with a gift of friendship with the hope that this will be the first of many such visits.

SCAL hosted a successful Career Event at the end of March, with the purpose of educating Haredi men about the variety of fulfilling careers available in the hi-tech and biotechnology fields.
